The Solstice Slide program is a 4-session/day program designed for youth 13 years of age and older who range from first timers to advanced skiers and riders. Lessons will be given in a small group setting, with a 30 to 45-minute break for lunch each day. Lunch each day is included in the program price.
This program is limited to 18 skiers and 18 snowboarders (36 program total). Online registration for this program is required; no walk-ins will be accepted.

If you are accompanying a child for one of our After School programs (Early Season, After School, or Terrain Park) you can purchase a slope pass at a discounted rate, per day, for the period of the program. The child attending a program as well as proof of purchase for respective youth program are required at time of guardian slope pass purchase.

Whether this will be your first time on the snow or an opportunity to fine tune your skills, this 4-session program can help you reach your goals. Both ski and snowboard disciplines are available with space limited to 20 ski and 20 snowboard students (40 program total) so once you are enrolled in a discipline it cannot be changed, no exceptions.
Online registration for this program is required; no walk-ins will be accepted. Note the dates carefully as this is not a typical multi-week program.

The After School Program is a 7-session/week progressive lesson program which provides an opportunity to hone skills for those ranging from beginner to upper intermediate in their discipline of choice. Once a discipline is chosen, it must be followed until the end of that session. Students enrolled above the beginner level will be evaluated during the first lesson prior to final placement within skill level class.
Online registration for this program is required; no walk-ins will be accepted. This program is limited to 100 students for both skiing and snowboarding disciplines. Sessions will be held on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, and once a program night is chosen no substitutions will be made. Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday programs each offer a bonus date which is reserved as a make-up session should Cataloochee Ski Area not be operating any of the listed dates for night session. In the event of all sessions taking place on schedule, the bonus date will remain in effect as an additional session and opportunity to showcase learned skills.

The Terrain Park Program is a 7-session/week lesson program designed for intermediate level skiers and riders who are looking to hone specific tricks and skills. The group will be divided into park beginner and park intermediate subgroups, with evaluations for park intermediate placement taking place during the first session. While beginner park skills will be taught, this program is only open to intermediate or advanced level skiers and riders.
Online registration for this program is required; no walk-ins will be accepted. This program is limited to 20 students for both skiing and snowboarding disciplines. Should Cataloochee Ski Area not be operating any of the listed dates it will be replaced with the make-up date.

Every Tuesday, starting January 9th through the end of the season, homeschoolers are eligible for special rates on slope passes, rentals, and lessons. No registration is required for this program, simply present valid homeschooling credentials at Guest Services. This promotion is for day skiing from 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM only.

This field-trip styled program is designed to offer all of STEM, Science, and Math principles within a roughly two-hour period. The lesson will provide invaluable insight into the world of snowmaking at Cataloochee Ski Area through lecture, a guided tour, and visual experience. Please note, this experience does not include a slope pass, but is a fun and exciting way to learn at no cost and consisting of four components:
1. Introduction – What is Snowmaking?
2. Elements – What does it take?
3. Result – What do we end with?
4. FAQ – All your curiosities answered.
Field trip date choices will be either Tuesday, January 23rd or Tuesday, February 13th.
This program is open to 6 adults and 12 youth (18 program total). Online registration for this program is required; no walk-ins will be accepted.
