Do NOT use navigation with directions on Scenic View Dr., Hemphill Rd., or Yellow Patch Rd. This will lead you to an inaccessible, private road.

Cataloochee Ski Area is located four miles off U.S. 19 above Maggie Valley, North Carolina and is easily accessed from Interstate-40.

Turn onto Fie Top Rd (at previously known Ghost Town in the Sky – across from Tube World). After traveling 3 miles on Fie Top Rd, continue onto the gravel road Ski Lodge Rd for 1 mile. Do not turn off of Fie Top Rd as it merges into Ski Lodge Rd.

From the East (Asheville/Charlotte)

Take I-40 West to exit 27 (Maggie Valley). Exit on to U.S. 19/23/74 South (exit right at Exit 103).  Continue into and through the town of Maggie Valley.  At the far end of Maggie Valley, turn right into the Ghost Town in the Sky parking lot onto Fie Top Road.  Continue 3 miles to the top of the mountain on Fie Top Road.  Turn left at the top of Fie Top Road onto Ski Lodge Road and continue 1 mile to ski area.

From the West (Knoxville)

Take I-40 East to exit 20 (Maggie Valley). Exit on to U.S. 276 South (exit right).  Continue 6 miles to red light at the intersection of U.S. 19 South (Maggie Valley Inn & Conference Center will be on your right) and U.S. 276 South.  Turn right at red light onto U.S. 19 South and continue into and through the town of Maggie Valley.  At the far end of Maggie Valley turn right into the Ghost Town in the Sky parking lot onto Fie Top Road.  Continue 3 miles to the top of the mountain on Fie Top Road.  Turn left at the top of Fie Top Road onto Ski Lodge Road and continue 1 mile to ski area.

From the North (Cherokee)

Take U.S. 441 South to U.S. 19 North (Maggie Valley).   Continue over Soco Gap into the town of Maggie Valley.  Turn left into the Ghost Town in the Sky parking lot onto Fie Top Road.  Turn left at the top of Fie Top Road onto  Ski Lodge Road and continue 1 mile to ski area.

From the Atlanta Area and Points South

Take U.S. 441 to U.S. 23 exiting in the city of Waynesville (exit 102 B). Take 276 North to U.S. 19 South (turn left at red light at Lake Junaluska).  Continue on U.S. 19 South into and through the town of Maggie Valley.  At the far end of Maggie Valley, turn right into the Ghost Town in the Sky parking lot onto Fie Top Road and continue 3 miles to the top of the mountain.  Turn left at the top of Fie Top Road onto Ski Lodge Road and continue 1 mile to the ski area.

Tube World is NOT located at Cataloochee Ski Area.

Tube World is located on U.S. 19 at the West end of Maggie Valley, directly across from the ski area entrance sign at Fie Top Rd. and is easily accessed from Interstate-40.

From the East (Asheville/Charlotte)
