Alley Cat Youth Racing 2020/21

Cataloochee racing is back for another season! This year the program will run a little different with options ranging from preseason training and racing during the season to just training and the possibility of trying one race. Clinics will take place twice a week and consist of one weekday afternoon in gates and one weekend morning to work on ski technique outside of the race course. Clinics will be held on the following days: December 2, 9, 16, 23 from 4-6 pm and December 6, 13, 20 from 9-11 am. Valid lift ticket and helmet required. Meeting location for these skills clinics will be outside the Kidz Ski & Ride Center, on the lower level of the group lodge.

If you are a returning veteran to Cataloochee racing, it will look a little different this year. We will no longer have middle school and high school race nights; we will be combining racing into Wednesday nights and grouping by age categories. Age groups will be as follows: 10-12, 13-15, 16-18. We have 100 total spots for middle schoolers and high schoolers combined.

Training/Clinic Program

If you are interested in racing, this is the program for you! In this program you can participate in preseason clinics and get your feet wet looking at a race course and trying it without having any timing. This program provides you with a lift ticket and access to clinics for the month of December 2 days a week. It also includes 3 Nastar Sundays that start in January. Nastar is a race open to the public that we run Sundays in January and February.

Middle School/High School Racing Program

So you know how to ski and you understand what racing is about and you are ready to take the next step. With this package you can attend race clinics preseason and have a pass that allows you to do so. You can also race on Wednesday nights from January to February with other middle and high schoolers. This does not include weekends with Nastar racing on Sundays or Crescent club membership.

Advanced Racing Program

For those that have raced before or want everything that Cataloochee has to offer, this is the ticket for you! You can attend preseason race clinics, sign up for school racing for the season and have an unlimited lift ticket as well as get in extra practice with Sunday Nastar Racing. This program also includes dues for both Asheville Ski Club and Crescent Racing if you just can’t get enough racing in your life!
